Sacha’s paintings convey universal messages that speak to the human condition.

Embracing Shadows Exhibition

‘Embracing Shadows’ explores conflicting forces within the human condition and the odyssey toward one’s unconditional self-acceptance.

“Freedom is to live without fear.” - Nina Simone

Every aspect of our modern life is prescribed and contained by social conditioning. The consistent bombardment of images and messages demands that we conform to the norms dictated by marketing manipulators. The effect pressurizes our souls and spirits into smaller and smaller constrictions of marginalization.

“Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth.” - John F. Kennedy

I endeavor in my artworks to give hope that we can escape social confines that bind us to the common, the ordinary, and be true to our own individual essence.

All that glitters is not gold. - English Proverb

Life like art is expressed through edges and shades. Great beauty and immense tragedy are often described with the same mediums, yet it is often only the viewpoint of the observer that defines the difference.

“The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend.” - Robertson Davies

Artworks of ‘Embracing shadows’, reach arms of compassion to the facets within us that have been denied or shunned. I hope that when a person encounters my works, they come closer to understanding the possibilities of freeing their spirit through ascension above prosaic expectations.

Blue Mind

Tides keep turning in our dynamic, ever evolving cosmos.

The sky mirrors the oceans - The land echoes the heavens.

All matter is composed of the same substance. Lines are blurred as to where one begins and another ends.

Earths elements and its inhabitants are inextricably interconnected -   Our strength lies in this symbiotic relationship.

“There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only the infinite passion of life." ― Fellini

Vagrant Mind Exhibition

‘Vagrant Mind’ captures moments of contemplation - sometimes conscious, sometimes dormant. Not unlike fish in a bowl, thoughts and feelings drift idly from place to place in our psyche bringing with them at times the unexpected. Some of these unexpected notions we grapple with, while others we are more accepting of.

Assimilation Exhibition

The body of work - ‘Assimilation’ depicts segments from fantastical dreamscapes. These works evolved from an oil painting titled ‘Unit 5’ (2007), originating from a childhood dream. The artwork portrays a girl floating in an ominous skyscape accompanied by large butterflies.  At that time I was exploring the idea of the fear of the unknown. Now from an adult’s perspective, ‘Assimilation’ put simply is a response to the earlier work. We find our own power from release, solace and acceptance.
